OBLATE SISTERS OF

CHRIST PRIEST

Vocation

ENGLISH

Everyone has a vocation, the plan of God for each and every person. Most of us have the vocation to matrimony and family. However, the chosen ones, are called to give themselves with an indivisible heart able to love God and all and every person as Jesus has loved us.

You should take into account that it is not the plan you have for your life but the project that God proposes and invites you to follow. It is not your decision but your answer to the call you have received.

Therefore, it is important to discern at a certain point what the way to follow is, what plan God has for us and, our true vocation. Consequently, we need to have interior silence, deep and amorous contact with God and openly ask: Lord, what do you want from me?

                                ¿What is vocation?

                                                        ¿Do I have vocation?

You do not choose Him but He is the one who chooses you. For this reason it is important to discern what his will is and not fell into impulses or think what we would like it to be: you may think that you do not have the vocation to consecrated life when God is calling you; or you may think that Gods is calling you when this is just your wish. It is recommendable to find the help of a spiritual guide and you can always speak to a priest or a consecrated person.

He will knock at your door. Do not be afraid, have the heart open and ready to let Him come in. Ask Him: Lord, what do you want from me? Those chosen will be asked: "leave everything and follow me". Do not be afraid to follow Him; God is asking you to follow Him right at that moment; do not pretend you are deaf and do not leave it for later on.

If He has called you, if he asks you to follow him in a radical manner, you will need to discern what his concrete plan  is within the consecrated life. You will need to find the order, congregation or secular institute whose charisma better suits your vocation. Contact the congregation, speak to the members, they will help you to know whether this is your truly vocation.
